Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
ThatCounts helps you keep personal food, nutrition, plan, and progress records. We collect only the information needed to provide this service.
Information we store
Sign-in uses an account identifier, email address, name, and any profile information supplied by the provider you choose. Email and password sign-in is processed by Supabase Auth. Profile and plan setup also stores the age, sex, height, weight, and tracking budget you enter. We store your food records, meal logs, nutrition targets, plans, saved foods, food corrections, weight records, and settings to provide your account history.
Data on your device and syncing
The food catalogue and your personal ThatCounts records are downloaded to your device. Changes save there first, then sync with your account hourly while the app is active, when an overdue app returns to the foreground, or when you choose Sync now. Changes waiting to sync remain on that device. Signing out clears its downloaded records after pending changes have synced. Export includes your locally saved food-log history. Connect to the internet to complete deletion from your cloud account.
How we use it
Your information is used to run ThatCounts, show your personal history, and calculate the summaries and recommendations you ask the app to show. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Services that process data
Hostinger serves the web application. Supabase authenticates accounts and stores app data. Google or Apple processes sign-in when you choose that provider. Requests to these services include operational information such as IP address, browser/network identifiers, user agent, request path, response status, and request time for delivery, security, and service diagnostics. Hosting and backend infrastructure can infer approximate location, such as city or country, from IP addresses. Hostinger also provides request analytics, including country summaries, to help us monitor traffic and service performance. The current release does not offer nutrition-label photo scanning and does not request camera, location, contacts, or health-platform access. No advertising SDK or third-party usage analytics SDK is included.
Your choices
From Account in ThatCounts, you can export your food-log history as a CSV and remove your personal ThatCounts records. For deletion of your ThatCounts account and associated personal data, follow the account deletion request instructions. We verify ownership and confirm the scope before affecting a login shared with other MIRAKAI apps. Non-personal shared catalogue foods may remain. Uninstalling the app does not delete server-side records.
Security and retention
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and is protected so each signed-in person can access only their own records. We retain your data until you delete it or your account, unless we need to retain a limited record to meet a legal obligation. Service-provider backups and limited technical/security logs follow the providers’ retention schedules and are not erased by deleting an individual food log.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as ThatCounts evolves. The current version is always published at this address. For privacy questions, email hello@emirakai.com.
